So here's my London Shopping Post!
Shopping in London is always something that takes my breath away. Now I'm not from London, actually I'm far from it in a little place called Rodborough in Stroud in the Cotswolds. I love the hustle and bustle of the city and the mad variety of things you can buy. Don't get me wrong there's shops and cities near me but I'm pushed to find a massive flag ship store of any kind unless I travel to Bristol (which to be honest is only 50 minutes away so is easily doable on a weekend).
So what do I love about London shopping? Well in true Bec fashion I'm making a list. So grab a cuppa and a choccy biccie and I'll take you on a tour of my shopping loves in good old London town.
1- Covent Garden
This place is so so pretty. I took my first trip there the Christmas just gone and it was decorated so beautifully. Massive baubles hung from the ceiling and a massive reindeer shaped tree was outside in the courtyard.
There's a place where singers can perform downstairs and when I went the whole place was full with the sound of carols from the carol singers. They often have acoustic acts and classic and opera singers there too which is a pleasure to listen to while you enjoy one of the many places to eat and gorgeous little cafes.
It really is a place of beauty and I can't wait to visit again for a little bt or relaxation from the hustle and bustle.
It also has a Moomin shop! Yes you read that correct, and let's be honest, that in itself is amazing so if you go for one thing, that is the thing to spot.
2- Oxford Street
I do believe this is shopping at its best! If you can be bothered to battle the crowds Oxford Street is shopping central. With everything from department stores, sports shops, Forever 21 (which I love and only ever go in when in London) and of course a whopping great Primark- you'll find everything at Oxford Street. But here's a tip: go early to avoid mental queues and to get the best stock in the shops (and we know there's nothing worse than wanting something and going to a shop specifically to get it, and when you get there it's SOLD OUT! Worst thing ever. So avoid it and go early).
3- Leicester Square
M&M World! That's pretty much my Leicester Square experience (for shopping any way). I think it's a must visit at least once if you're in London, just for the sheer novelty of it. The M&Ms are expensive though so don't go filling your boots or you'll be shedding out a lot of cash. All the same I spent £11 in there on sweets last time and got a cool bag. It was worth it!
4- Camden Market
Here's a sneaky one, Camden Market. I've never been (very sad) but it looks so good and one day I want to experience it. I want to see all the vintage stalls, the cultured stalls and of course the food stalls. So come on Camden, come at me next time I pay London a visit.
So there's my London Town shopping guide, from someone who doesn't live in England's Capital City!
Here's the other blog in the #londonproject created by the lovely April Todd from www.beautifaceblog.com so check them out too.
And on a cheeky side note, I went to London for New Year's Eve and it was AMAZING! Just saying. And if you ever get a chance to go and do New Year in London I'd recommend it! But prepared to stand still for about 5 hours to get a good space. I did this from 7:30 til midnight and even though I had aching legs it was SO WORTH IT!
Enjoy Londinium if you pay a visit. I do :)
