The Beauty Blogger' Tag

It's time for another TAG style post. I know I did one of these as my last post as I was inspired by Avia from The Sparkleicious but this time I've been tagged by Courtney from Cheapbutchicbeautyat.blogspot.com to do "The Beauty Blogger Tag" created by The Beau Bow.

So to get started here are the rules….

1) State that this tag was created by THE BEAU BOW
2) Tag as many beauty bloggers as you'd like
3) Title this post as 'The Beauty Blogger' tag

Without further a do here are the questions!

1) Name a beauty routine you barely do.

I very very rarely use a primer (don't see much point as they're usually pretty expensive and when I have used them in the past I've never noticed a difference in my make up application or its staying power) and I never used a brush to apply a wet face product (BB Cream, CC Cream, Foundation,Cream Blush etc). I find using my fingers a lot easier and I find I get a lot better coverage with foundation and BB creams and a lot better precision with cream/liquid blush and bronzers.

2) Is washing your makeup brushes something you do regularly?

I have to say no. And let's be honest that is disgusting. I only ever use a powder brush for applying a light dusting over my BB Cream but I should still wash it more often. Saying that though I'm washing everything before I go on holiday in a few weeks as they'll have a week to dry as I'm not taking them with me :)

3) How long would you last with chipped nail varnish?

I hate having chipped nails but if I have to I can last a for as long as I need. If I'm going away or something and won't have time to reapply nail varnish I always try and pack some nail varnish removal pads so I don't have to go around with awful looking nails. Generally I take it off if it's chipped or reapply a coat if I can and the chip isn't too bad. BUT here's trick. If you apply a crackle polish over the top of chipped nails no one need to know! Your nails just look super funky instead.. stylish :D

4) How long do you put off buying/replacing a beauty item or nail polish even if you need it (i.e foundation, top coat, etc.)

I'm pretty awful with this unless it's a necessity. BB Cream I will repurchase when I'm running out as I it's something I wear daily but with regards to top coats etc I put it off as I think, nah I don't need it. But usually I do, so I eventually I repurchase thinking I should have got this ages ago haha.

5) What is you worst beauty habit?

Umm I don't really know. Probably rubbing my eyes when I have make up on. Mascara all over my face is never a good look.

6) Name something non-beauty related that you put off all the time.

Ironing! But a lot of my clothes don't need ironing as I hang them up nicely to dry to the creases drop out, so I end up waiting for a massive pile and then just begrudgingly going through it.

7) When going out somewhere do you leave getting
ready until last minute or not?

I can get ready as quick as anything. I've no shame in throwing an outfit on, leaving my hair au natural and refreshing the day's make up and if it's a special occasion I'll think about my outfit before hand so I know what I'm wearing so I can get ready quickly if needs be. If not, there's nothing wrong with taking your time with it, getting ready at leisure and taking an hour in the shower haha.

8) Can you commit to spending bans?

I've never really bothered with one. I say to myself don't buy anything you don't need and generally I won't. I'm trying to save for a mortgage so I've gotta get on it and tighten my purse strings.

9) How organised is your makeup and nail polish collections?

It's pretty organised. All my make up is in the bathroom in a little tray (I don't actually own THAT much at all as I always wear the same stuff whatever the occasion) and my lippies are in a little cute holder in my room. I store all my nail varnish, organised by brand, in a zebra print box on my stand and all my most used ones are in a Soap and Glory gift box by my bed. I love my nails so this has got to be my beauty do! Keep them tidy and know where all my colours are.

10) What is the longest time you have gone without writing a blog post?

Since I've been properly into it I think it's been a week, and that was the week just gone as I was on holiday. I enjoy writing them so don't not do it purposely, but at the same time I don't want to write about something which I'm not inspired about or throwing something together for the sake of posting.

So there's the 10 questions and I tag:

if you're reading this and want to do it then do and say I tagged you :)

Random Things I've Been Loving… TAG

So I was watching Avia from The Sparkleicious (again) and on her YouTube channel she did a random favourites kind of video and I thought that's a fab idea for a blog post (especially when you've been on holiday at Butlins for a week with kiddies and don't have a lot of other things to report on haha).

So below are a few of the random things I've been loving for the past few weeks. And as the title suggests it's all a bit random with beauty, makeup and homewares.

Brownie Delight

First I have been loving this Brownie Delight smelling candle from Village Candles. Think Yankee but not. It smells AMAZING. Imagine a hot chocolate fudge cake, melting away in front of your face… well this is like that and it smell so realistic that I generally want to eat it (plus when the wax is all melted it looks like chocolate sauce haha). It smells great and fills the room with the scent too which I love with a candle. Plus I find it helps to cure my chocolate cravings which is fantastic seen as I'm on Slimming World and don't want to eat too much chocolatey goodness!

Palmer's Firming Butter

Now onto another chocolatey scented product, but this time in the form of Palmer's Firming Butter. It smells delicious, just like all of the Palmer's Cocoa Butter products do and it says firming on the bottle… WINNER! My boyfriend says he can notice a change in the appearance of my skin (I'm using it to help tighten up my thighs, love handle area and tummy) so that's a bonus too. It's really moisturising though so I love it for that regardless and if it is firming my skin then yay bonus.
Be Delicious DKNY

I've just realised that my next random favourite is also a foodie smelling item… the Be Delicious Perfume from DKNY! The one I have is the Intense Golden Delicious one and it smells so so yummy. It's a girly grown up scent and smells very fruity, so if you're looking for a scent which is mature yet fruity, sexy and pretty then this one is definitely a winner. I got this as a birthday gift from my work colleagues too which was lush.

Barry M Nail Colour

Next up is a nail varnish (you know I love my nails) and this one is a Barry M Glossy. It's very shiny, you can get opaque colour in just one coat and the colour looks fab when you've just cut your nails so they're not as long (I always think red looks better on shorter nails, looks less garish and tallon like haha.. my personal opinion though okay? I prefer red nails on me when my nails are shorter :]) The colour here is Blood Orange and it's really nice. It's a little more orange than a cherry red but it's no where near a coral and for me I think it's the perfect red shade. What'd you think?

MUA Power Pout

And on next to a lippy. Seen as the colder weather is setting in and autumn is here, the darker lip is making an appearance. I don't like to wear anything too dark as i have a habit of biting my lips so it ends up like all over my face and my lips look very patchy so I thought I'd try this lip tint and stain by MUA. It's their version of a chubby stick and called the Power Pout which  think sounds pretty cool. I bought it ages ago and loved wearing it and then when summer hit a bit more I wore lighter colours and balms but this beauty has been sitting on my lips for the past few weeks now every single day (even at Butlins) haha. So definitely a favourite of mine. It's really moisturising too and doesn't dry your lips out and when the balm is gone your lips are stained to the colour stays put for quite a while. I like to reapply though as I like the moisture it gives. The shade I have it Crazy In Love and it's so pretty.

So there you have it, a few of my random faves for September. Keep your eyes peeled for a new post soon!!

Today I just fancied a good old fashioned ramble, not about anything in particular but today is just feeling a little slow and I wanted to do some blogging (but this is more of a vlog blog with you get me, my ramble/talkey blog bit haha). Does that make sense, like look at my daily life videos over on the blog channel, so this is like my blog alternative to that? Ahaha gosh I have no idea what I'm waffling about.

But anyway enough enough, back to the post, which is all about pictures and photographs.

I was looking through my photos and thought about how good a summer it was this year, and for England the weather was decent too which always makes a nice alternative to the awful wet weather we usually get. It was even sunny on my birthday (which never happens) and on the day I held my birthday BBQ (double win).

So as I was taking a look back I thought I'd put up a post of some of the best bits of my summer. If you've done one of these kinda posts link it below or tweet me as it's always good knowing what others get up too (plus it gives me great ideas on what to do next summer… a whole year away -_- )

I thought I'd include some of my favourite quotes and fun instagram photos I've seen too and lots of things which made me smile over the sunshine season.

I went to a cute bird and deer park
I got to feed deers. It was such a beautiful day and very special too :)

My Bestie got married
I was the Head Bridesmaid at my best friend's wedding.
She looked gorgeous and it was a fantastic day. So sunny too.

I visited a beautiful place in Wales.
Weather was stunning and it was amazing. Got to go to my man's relative's wedding too.

I won Young Slimmer Of The Year at my Slimming World group :)

I celebrated being 22! :D
And got this amazing picnic basket from my man (Picnics are my favourite thing ever... as well as fireworks) He also bought me my Gran Canaria Holiday!! Wooooo. #hesamazing hehe

I felt good in shorts!
Spent a few days at the beach with my man this year and I loved it.
Amazing days I'll always remember.

This is HILARIOUS... right?

I was watching The Sparkleicious' new YouTube video the other night and the gorgeous Avia was talking about the pressure us women have to look a certain way, and as I was watching it I couldn't help but nod along and agree to a lot of what she said.

As a woman I feel that a lot of my life is taken up by my constant worrying that I'm not "good enough". Now I say all of this light heartedly as I'm a happy person, care free and love to have fun… and let's be honest , we get one life and I intend to enjoy it, whether that's in a body I love or a body I put up with.

There will always be people out there who we're jealous of, maybe we want their hair, love the look of their flawless skin, think they look a lot better in jeans than we do or maybe it's their personality we'd love, so to help me put myself back into my own perspective, I always think that at some point there has to be someone that's jealous of me.

Sounds silly but it's true (I think).

You might hate your curly hair but someone with dead poker straight hair might love to have your volume and bounce. You might dislike you wide hips but someone with an athletic frame may want your curves.

It's an odd subject and will always be controversial and it will never be sorted, as us humans are just too inquisitive and some of us, and I hold my hands up to this one, insecure.

Now, I'm the first one to complain about my body, the way my thighs look, the shape of my stomach and the way my legs dip in weirdly, but at the end of the day this is me. Nothing much I can do about it (unless I'm going to be drastic and go down the surgery line NO THANK YOU) so I'm coming to terms with it.

To help me be happier about my appearance I joined the gym, 2 years ago now. If you said to me back then I'd still be going to the gym/fitness classes 3 times a week and going running twice a week (I know, I actually love it. It's so nice doing it on your own too), I'd think you were mad. But now exercise is well and truly stuck into my life and daily routine I can't imagine living without it.

And earlier this year I took the plunge and started Slimming World. I lost just over a stone and am now carrying it on at home with everything I got from the group… and I'm enjoying it.

I was never an unhealthy person, I rarely ate crisps, drank fizzy drinks or ate badly, but what I would do is eat processed foods. Think pies, frozen chips, fat filled burgers, but now I just make my own. Tasty fish pies, meat pies, lean meat burgers, delicious chips, you name it I make it from scratch (if possible of course). And I love doing it. Cooking and baking is one of my passions and I can't imagine not rustling up a tasty meal at the end of the day.

So basically this is a Bec ramble, a big mush of some thoughts I've had about body image and things. But if you take one thing away from this post remember that you are you. There's no one in the whole world who's the same and that is such a special thing. Always be yourself, embrace yourself and your flaws and most of all enjoy being you and living in your body.

At the end of the day what is perfection other than something we want? No one has ever truly seen it as there will always be something better.

Perfection doesn't really exist but happiness does!

Enjoy it, Live it and Love it.

What's My Style- As Featured On TheMuseTV

Some of you may have seen my last post about being featured about my style over on The MuseTV so I thought I'd whack the post I wrote for them up on here to incase you guys didn't get a chance to read it through.

So here you go, here's a little look into my style and my fav fashion pieces....

When you look at me, in my wardrobe or in my shoe closet you probably wouldn't think I own anything uber special. I'm not wacky, I'm not 100% individual or unique and half the time I'm not overly creative, so when asked about my style I was like Ummmmm, that's a tricky one.

One thing I can say though is I'm not really a brand baby. The majority of my clothes are from high street stores like New Look, H&M, Primark, Top Shop and Debenhams and I love wearing affordable clothes. Mixing a Primark top with a New Look skirt or some H&M leggings with a New Look dress is pretty much a daily occurrence for me, and with the rate in how quickly fashion changes, if I bought high end every time I'd be the poorest person ever. Literally, I couldn't even afford to do that.

After being a Uni student for 3 years and now working in a low paid job (tell me about it, thanks a lot degree & uni debts -_-) I can't afford to be all flash cash BUT I can definitely dress my self to make me feel stylish, happy and most of all confident.

So what are some of my key fashion pieces to get me through the working week and of course the fun that is weekends?

JEANS- I used to hate jeans as I could never find pairs which fitted me well. Until one day I looked through my mum's catalogue book (OLD SCHOOL) and found a brand called Confident Curves. I bought their high waisted skinnies and they fitted like a dream. I've had them for about 2 years now and they are slowly dying and I need to repurchase and due to me loosing a stone they are also a bit baggy, but any way JEANS- wardrobe must have!

They go with everything! Dress them up, style them down, wear them with heels, wear them with trainers, converse, dolly shoes, boots, they always look good and generally they do suit every body shape, so go find your perfect pair, they'll be with you for ages and jeans will never go out of fashion.

CAMIS- Camis are perfect for the summer sunshine or layering underneath jumpers and cardigans in the autumn/winter. I love the light chiffon ones and these can also be dressed up or styled down. Accessorise them right with a bit of fun costume jewellery and heels and your date night outfit is made, and with jeans and converse you've got that day to day, gorgeous and flawless look we all want (and I most definitely need).

LOW TOP CONVERSE- Yep I've spoken about them twice already but I honestly believe we all need a pair of these. They're more stylish than trainers and look good with loads of things. Whether you want preppy, girly or geek chic, converse can make that happen. My fave outfit with them has to be black legging, long black top (COVER THE BUM) or a dress, a denim shirt and envy converse. I wear this a lot when I want to be comfy, look casual but also stylish, and have to run errands, go shopping or just out for a walk. Love them. I have them in navy (nice alternative to black) and pink (as I love pink so why not have pink shoes?)

BLACK CARDIGAN- Perfect to chuck on over any outfit. Great for winter and summer and spring and autumn (yep, all year round), dress up or down, screw up in your bag, carry round, throw on… do I need to say more? Buy one!

PRETTY TEA DRESSES- I live in these at work and love them all year round. Comfy patterned tea dresses just make me feel happy and girly. Wear with leggings or bare all with naked legs or clear tights and they look really pretty. Rock them up with a leather jacket or throw on a pretty jacket for an ultra femine look. Boots, heels, flats, whatever… they're so pretty.

There's some of my favourite essential pieces which you can wear pretty much all year round and they're all great for transition pieces as we're going from summer to autumn at the moment.

I'm currently on the hunt for my 2013 winter coat (after buying my man a lush Superdry one for christmas- yep I'm that prepared haha but he chose it so why not get it now? I'd only spend the same amount on stuff he didn't want anyway. AND it's his first piece of branded clothing- he's no brand baby either, he likes game tshirts -_- aha).

Hope you liked this sneak peek into my style file.

Prairie Charms Review: #PROJECTBLOGGER

When I was contacted by Prairie Charms about their blogger project I was really excited to get involved, after all this was the first time I'd been contacted by someone via my blog (I always hope that's a sign that my blog's doing well) and I was pretty chuffed.

They contacted me via Twitter along with lots of other of you Beauty Bloggers and gave me a discount on a few items from the Prairie Charms store. There were so many pretty, glittery and girly accessories I didn't know what to pick so I went for something a bit different for me… a floral crown and a hair bow.

I wanted to pick something I wouldn't normally go for and take this as an opportunity to try a new look as well as a new brand, so I went for the vibrant floral crown as I thought it'd brighten up a dull outfit and would make an autumn outfit feel a tad more summery (it's always good to bring some sunshine to your outfit whatever season it is).

So here is the beauty…

It's a bring pink fuchsia colour with a few green leaves to tie into the black elastic head band. The flowers are like the kind you'd get in a faux bouquet which I think is great as if they get wet in the rain they won't ruin (which is always a plus when you live in wet wet England).

I know I'm going to get a lot of wear out of this over the autumn and on my holiday next month (Yay, the sun can still shine for me). Definitely going to be pairing this hair piece with my pink wellies for firework nights and shorts and vests for my beach holiday.

It's also a great accessory to help dress up an outfit so will be perfect on my holiday when I want to take that daytime denim playsuit into a cute night time dinner outfit.

Plus it looks great with your hair up and your hair down and it's not too big that it takes up your whole head, RESULT.

I also got this cute hair bow, look how pretty it is with its white polka dots!

As I'm a big fan of the half updo look I thought this would make a great clip to hold it all up with, a lot better than my boring old clear elastic band and brown butterfly clip anyway.

It's perfect teamed with a big grey knit cardigan (which I don't actually have at the mo as I threw mine out last winter BUT it's on my list along with a grey blazer) and some comfy clothes and will make anything look that little bit more feminine and who doesn't love a cute bow?

So thanks Prairie Charms for letting me get involved in the Blogger Project! (ProjectBlogger) I loved reviewing and styling up these beauties!

Keep your eyes peeled for photos of me wearing the
items in outfit of the day posts soon :)

If you're a company who would like a product styled up or reviewed by TrendetBeau,  get in contact with me via the Contact tab at the top of the page.

Hope you enjoyed,
Prepare for another post very soon.

Tasty 7 Bean Chilli

Another tasty Slimming World healthy tea  time meal today & that is a jacket potato with 7 bean chilli & quark.

It's really quick, easy & so yummy, so here's how you make it.

You will need:
2 tbsp Chilli powder
2 tbsp Tomato purée
Beans- I used a tin of mixed beans, chickpeas & some red kidney beans
Chopped tomatoes
Red peppers
Jacket potato

1) Put your spud in the oven for about 20 mins (until cooked)

2) Heat up a wok & put all the ingredients into it & stir.

3) Cook until hot. Then spoon onto your jacket spud & add a dollop of quark for extra taste.

Ta Da! How easy was that?! Haha. Enjoy.

I Wanna...

So after a productive morning of turning my stress into a 5 mile run, it got me thinking that I'd love to one day run a half marathon or maybe even a marathon (optimistic) so then I thought, what else do I want in life/from life.

After a quick 5 minute brain storm (during my run I might add) I thought up a few things which I want to do, places I want to go & things I want to achieve. Now I don't mean in my career or anything family or home life related, but things I think would be a great experience & what I'd enjoy.

So here's my 7 things...

This is my local half marathon in my home town & I'd love to be able to run the 13 miles one year (October 2014 I think I'll aim for as have a bit of a way to go with my 5 miles haha). My dad has ran every one of these half marathons from the very first one the year it started & hasn't missed one (even though he's been battling an illness for the majority of them). He's so determined & when he retires from running I want to keep up the family name in the event, so Dad this one's for you.

I've always wanted to go to Disney World ever since I was little & saw the amazing castle at the start of my videos. I never went as a child but would love to go now as an adult, whether that's with friends, with my other half or even if I have my own family.

One place I just want to visit. I'd love to walk around Central Park & sit on a bench & enjoy the winter sunshine. Got to love a bit of American winter (or maybe Christmas).

Driving Route 66 would be amazing. I couldn't tell you why I want to do it, it just seems like such a great fun thing to do & wow what an experience it would be.

Paris is supposed to be the most romantic city in the world, so naturally I want to go there, with my other half, eat crepes & climb the Eiffel Tower :)

I adore fireworks! Literally they are my favourite thing & just watching them can make me well up with happiness (what a wolly haha) so seeing England's biggest firework display in the capital city on New Year's Eve is one of my dreams... AND I'M SEEING THEM THIS YEAR :)

I'm so excited for my 2 night/3 day London trip over New Year with my man. What an amazing end of a year/start of a year that will be.

I don't mind off the rack but I'd love to wear a dress I'd designed on my wedding day. I know what I want (I think) and even if I don't design it I want to make an off the rack one unique. Come on fashion skills.

So there you have it.
What do You Wanna...?
